Music Feels
Who hears music feels his solitude peopled at once.
Robert Browning
Tired of living around too many people? Want a bit of solitude? A 2024 article from Geographical about “The world’s most isolated settlements ” may be a bit off on the population counts, but when we’re talking about isolated settlements with less than 500 people, being off by a few heads isn’t much to fret. The most populous of the unpopulated is Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland with about 450 people, and the least is Pitcairn Islands in the Southern Pacific Ocean with about 50 people. What about Antarctica? There’s a school there, Villa Las Estrellas, with about 100 people which puts it in the middle of the list.
